Hangover star Zach Galifianakis is coming to HBO

Zach Galifianakis has signed a deal with HBO for a "low-budget comedy presentation" starring comedian Brody Stevens.

Zach Galifianakis and Mike Gibbons co-wrote the "mockumentary" that will star comedian Brody Stevens, playing himself, in which they will chronicle his life. Galifianakis will guest star in the HBO series.

Who is Brody Stevens, you ask? Stevens is a comedian that has worked with Galifianakis for over 10 years on shows like VH1's Late World with Zach and has had small parts in The Hangover and Due Date.

Jonathan Krisel, aSaturday Night Live writer who also directed many of the digital shorts, will direct the show. Gibbons, who co-wrote and is an executive producer on the show, has also worked on Tosh.0 and Lopez Tonight.

Galifianakis is rumored to be appearing in the pilot episode of the show and will make a guest appearances if the show gets picked up. Galifianakis is gearing up for The Hangover 2 as he reprises his role as Alan Garner.
