Supermodel Stephanie Seymour hit the beach again with her family — but this time, it wasn’t so controversial.
Stephanie Seymour still has it at 42, and she’s not afraid to show it off. The mother and former supermodel donned a bikini for a family outing with her two younger children, Harry and Lilly, on a beach in Saint Barthelemy, France.
The happy family outing was nowhere near as scandalous as her last appearance on a beach. Seymour and her 17-year-old son, Peter Brant II, were caught in a loving embrace during a family beach vacation. Some people thought the embrace signaled an inappropriate mother-son relationship, prompting Peter to release a statement.
“I would just like to say that these pictures have been taken completely out of context. My mother and I are very close, as she is with all her children,” the openly gay Peter said at the time. “She often hugs and kisses me and my siblings in a manner that is intimate. Any mother in the world does the same.”
Seymour was understandably horrified that people mistook her loving relationship for something inappropriate.
“I’ve gone through a lot in the past two years, and I gained a lot of weight, and it really upset me. So I spent two days indoors. When I finally decided to just go outside, my son was so happy to see me,” Seymour told Oprah during an appearance on her show in February.
“He was wooing me and gave me a big hug and a kiss, and we had no idea that that one second would be turned into something that could ever be thought of as inappropriate,” she continued. “He’s my baby. He’s a gorgeous young man, but he’s my baby.”
Seymour also told Oprah that she was heartbroken her son felt he needed to clarify the photos on his own.
“I was upset he did this without my knowledge, because obviously, he felt that strongly. I could have helped him. I believe in ignoring all that nonsense. He took it upon himself, and I think he felt like he had to defend his mommy,” she said.
