Limitless preview: Bradley Cooper is "Winning"
What if there was a drug that made you remember everything you ever learned? That's the premise of the new Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro film, Limitless.
In the new film Limitless, Bradley Cooper plays Eddie, an unemployed writer whose girlfriend (Abbie Cornish) breaks up with him. He feels like he's drifting until he tries an experimental drug called NZT. On this drug, Eddie remembers everything he's ever read, seen or heard. He uses that ability to become incredibly successful in finance.
All good things must come to an end, and if you've seen the trailer, you know it happens here too. Business mogul Carl Van Loon (Robert De Niro) uses Eddie's success to make his own money and hitmen start chasing him to try to get their hands on his dwindling NZT stash. When it runs out, what is Eddie without the drug? Is he still the loser he used to be? Is the success really his if he only gained it with chemical help? His drug-fueled life starts to unravel as the side effects begin.
The film is based on the novel The Dark Fields by Alan Glynn and directed by Neil Burger. The trailer is action packed and it certainly asks a question that we all may be asking ourselves as science advances. If I have the opportunity to improve myself with a drug, would I do it? Better living through science, right?
Limitless hits theaters March 18.
