Tackling a literary classic for a big screen adaptation is a heady effort. Just ask Jane Eyre director Cary Joji Fukunaga.

For one, locations so impeccably described by author Charlotte Bronte in her classic novel are few and far between in 2011 England.

One of Fukunaga’s (Sin Nobre) easiest tasks was the casting of an actress to inhabit the literary legend, Jane Eyre.

Fukunaga had Mia Wasikowska in his sights for Jane from the beginning.

The Jane Eyre director takes us through his process of bringing a Bronte sister mainstay to the big screen. Adding Oscar winner Judi Dench into the mix could never hurt things.
