Michelle Obama wows in $35 H&M dress
First Lady Michelle Obama once again proved that you can look stylish on a budget as she rocked a $35 H&M dress on the Today show.
First Lady Michelle Obama sat down with Today show's Matt Lauer earlier this week in a navy and white ruffled dress from H&M -- priced at only $34.95!
Michelle Obama is known for her knack of mixing high-end designers with more affordable favorites, like J. Crew. For her recent television appearance, she gave it her own personal touch by pairing the printed dress with a wide orange belt and yellow pumps.
The long-sleeved version of this dress is not available online (but is reportedly in stores), however, the short-sleeved version is available online -- check it out here. The original dress comes with a belt which Michelle swapped out for a wider belt.
Michelle's fashion choices often cause a buzz -- and many of her outfits sell out quickly! H&M stock actually rose on Wednesday from 201.7 to 213.7 -- could this be in part because of her Today show appearance?
Consumers are not the only ones happy to see the First Lady wearing clothes that they can actually wear as well. Designer Rachel Roy has been lucky enough to have had Michelle wear her dresses -- and she buys off the rack!
"[For] her to choose something that is actually at retail at that time -- which means other people can buy the exact same dress, and would want to -- which would only help my business, is such a kind and generous thought of someone to do," Roy said.
