After months of speculation, it’s official: Beavis and Butt-Head are returning to MTV.
Rumors started months ago that the most popular slackers of the 1990’s would rise again, but MTV made it official today: Beavis and Butt-Head are back!
The network made the announcement that the two moronic video critics would return to the small screen at their upfront presentation, where they show marketers and advertisers what shows they have planned during a given sales period. The cast of the controversial show Skins, none of whom were born when the original characters debuted in 1992, made the announcement.
Even Justin Bieber is psyched for the slacker duo to come back to the small screen. The Biebs, who wasn’t even born yet when the show first aired as part of MTV’s Liquid Television lineup (for you young ‘uns, think of it as a really cool precursor to Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim), tweeted his excitement.
“Solid day in NYC,” wrote the Never Say Never star. “Played hoops and just went to the MTV Upfronts…BEAVIS and BUTTHEAD are coming back!!!”
Mike Judge, the creator of the hit series, has gone on to score even greater success with King of the Hill, The Goode Family, Office Space, Idiocracy and Extract.
