Never Let Me Go is a science fiction love story adapted from Kazuo Ishiguro’s book and possesses a multitude of layers that would be expected of such a deeply personal novel.
In our exclusive clip, Carey Mulligan talks about meeting the actress who plays her as a young girl and the extraordinary similarities the two share, beyond their could-be-sisters look.
The movie comes to home video with a whole heap of buzz as one of 2010’s most impressive films. Never Let Me Go is as equally moving as it is jaw-dropping in its ability to send audiences into another world. The story follows Ruth (Keira Knightley), Tommy (Andrew Garfield) and Kathy (Mulligan) — three friends since elementary school who embark on their lives sharing an unsettling secret that could unravel all of their worlds.
The trio first meets at an English boarding school and becomes incredibly close as they grow up. It is when they are about to graduate that they learn their fate — all are genetically engineered clones whose sole purpose is to exist for organ donations. Do they run or do they stay and live the life designed for them?
If they leave, they risk everything, but the opportunity to live their lives, find love and grow old is too powerful to resist.
