The Mad Men season four finale delivered romance, twists and turns, leaving us wanting more when the AMC hit returns in 2011. Spoiler alert ahead!
Don Draper in love?
“I know it’s a surprise, but it makes me very happy,” Don Draper (Jon Hamm) says, as he announces he is engaged to his secretary, Megan (played by Hot Tub Time Machine’s Jessica Pare).
“Who the hell is that?” asks Roger Sterling (John Slattery).
Draper feels settled and complete when he has a woman to take care of his children and his home, and he feels like Megan fits the bill perfectly. She’s beautiful, sweet and turns the kids into her own Von Trapp family as she gets them to sing to her in French. “I feel like myself when I’m with you,” Draper said in the Mad Men finale.
But, how much do they really know about each other? Does Megan truly love Draper — or does she have an ulterior motive? And what about Faye?
Peggy’s fed up
Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss) felt like she saved the company by landing the Topaz pantyhose account; however she does not feel like she is getting the recognition she deserves. In fact, she feels like Draper is getting more recognition for getting engaged than she is for practically saving the company.
Joan (Christina Hendricks) can sympathize. She got a “promotion” and new title — but did not get the salary bump that should have gone along with it. Stay tuned for more focus on gender inequality in the workplace in the remaining two seasons of Mad Men where these strong women will hopefully get their day in this male dominated workplace.
mad men Pregnancy news
Joan’s enviable figure will be going through some changes in the new season, as she reveals she is pregnant and did not have an abortion after all. She is excited to be a mother, but we wonder what changes this news will bring to the workplace. Greg wonders why Joan isn’t showing, leaving us to wonder if there will be some baby daddy drama in the new season.
