Actor Shelley Malil, the man who famously played the electronics store co-worker of Steve Carell in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, is taking things a little more seriously these days.

On September 16, the Indian-born actor was convicted of attempted murder for stabbing his girlfriend, Kendra Beebe, more than 20 times.

Adding to the serious conviction, Shelley Malil was also found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon.

The attack happened to Kendra Beebe at her San Marcos, California home back in 2008.

Kendra Beebe talked to reporters about the incident through tears. "I feel a sense of relief, but I have to be honest: There is never a win in a situation like this. I was afraid because he was an actor that the people might believe his bad theatrics. I am pleased to see the justice system did its job properly," she expressed.

Kendra Beebe's wounds were so severe her body is now laden with scars.

As for Shelley Malil, he is allegedly scheduled to be sentenced November 18. His actions can carry a sentence from 21 years in prison to life in prison.
