Before Demi Lovato was Sonny with a Chance, she did a little 2008 Disney Channel movie with teen singing sensations turned neophyte actors, the Jonas Brothers. It was called Camp Rock and it turned out to be an even bigger hit for Disney than High School Musical.

The top-rated cable program of 2008, Camp Rock was watched by more than 10 million viewers and it shot the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato even further into the tween-osphere than they ever could have imagined while introducing them as bankable actors.

Camp Rock 2 stars The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato

On September 3, the Jonas Brothers and Lovato return to the great outdoors for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, but if you were born during the Clinton administration, you probably already know that.

If you're unfamiliar, here's what you need to know. In the first film, Lovato starred as Mitchelle "Mitchie" Torres, an aspiring young musician who wants to go to a music camp named "Camp Rock." Her family can't afford the camp's tuition, so Mitchie's mother arranges to cater food for the camp in order for her daughter to attend, something Mitchie tries to hide from everyone at camp.

Meanwhile spoiled pop star Shane Gray (Joe Jonas) has been assigned to be in charge of dance classes for one month at Camp Rock by his bandmates in Connect 3 (and in real life), Jason (Kevin Jonas) and Nate (Nick Jonas). In a Cyrano-Little Mermaid kind of twist, one day Shane hears the sound of Mitchie singing and falls in love with the voice. He never sees whose pipes he's fallen for, so he spends most of the movie searching for the girl with the golden chords. Romance ensues and, at the end of the summer, they all live happily ever after.

In the newest film, Connect 3 has returned to Camp Rock during their summer break from touring so Shane (Joe) can spend quality time with his now girlfriend Mitchie. But a rivalry with the slick new Camp Star across the river cuts into their romantic plans as they attempt to save Camp Rock from financial ruin by winning a televised performance showdown. Hmmm, we wonder who'll win it all with a rousing number about friendship, loyalty and respect.

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam with Lovato and the Jonas Brothers premieres on the Disney Channel Friday September 3 at 8 pm and an extended edition DVD, featuring two exclusive new music numbers, is available on Blu-ray and DVD September 7.
