Mexico's Jimena Navarrete wins Miss Universe
Mexico's Jimena Navarrete has been crowned the new Miss Universe.
Jimena Navarrete, 22, beat out 82 other beauty queens to become Miss Universe. This was the second time Mexico has won the coveted title.
The pageant was held on August 23 in Las Vegas and was hosted by superstar Bret Michaels and Natalie Morales.
Jimena Navarrete took the competition by storm, commanding the stage in a violet bikini during the swimwear round and then slipping into a gorgeous red floor-length gown to show her more formal side.
During the question and answer round Jimena Navarrete took on the controversial topic of monitoring our youth's usage of the Internet. Jimena Navarrete gracefully beat first runner-up Yendi Phillipps of Jamaica and second runner-up Jesinta Campbell of Australia.
Navarrete is taking over the title from Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela.
