Megan Fox, 24, and Brian Austin Green, 36, have been dating off-and-on since 2004 (do the math on Megan’s age when they first got together and then cringe with us), got engaged in November 2006, then called off their engagement in February 2009.
Trouble first seemed to arise when Brian didn’t accompany Megan Fox to the 2009 Golden Globes. His excuse? “He’s working on his music,” Fox explained to reporters on the red carpet. “He doesn’t wanna be here. He doesn’t want to be my date. He’s a man. He has an ego.”
This could mean that Megan Fox’s sudden burst of celebrity was a little tough for Brian Austin Green to stomach. And, PS, where is this long awaited Brian Austin Green record release already?
But two weeks later, they were spotted having lunch in Burbank together, keeping things low-profile, but looking very friendly and comfortable. It appeared that the end of their engagement was a break and not a breakup.
In April of 2009, after they’d officially gotten back together, Megan Fox decided to clear up any misconceptions about her engagement to Brian Austin Green, telling UsWeekly.com, “I’m not going to be married — I’m not the marrying type. And I know your next question is going to be: Why are you engaged if you’re not the marrying type? I am impulsive and I love my boyfriend, but I have no plans of getting married any time soon.”
Those must be delicious words to eat. No one puts David Silver in the corner!
On June 1, along the beach at the Four Seasons Hualalai Hotel in Hawaii, Brian proposed to Megan (again) and she said yes (again). But, true to form, things didn’t exactly go smoothly.
During the proposal, somehow they lost the ring.
“I saw her jumping up and down,” a witness tells Us Weekly of the reported 2-carat sparkler Brian presented. “Later, I saw a half dozen staff sifting through the sand. Security and maintenance staff spent a couple of hours looking for it. No one found it.”
Ring, shming, they’ve got their love to keep them warm.
Congratulations to the happy couple. Again.
