Christina Aguilera teases new single
Christina Aguilera is letting fans hear a snippet of the first single, Not Myself Tonight, from her upcoming album, Bionic. Aguilera’s website released the 15-second preview of the track, which premieres on radio March 30 and serves as a window into the new album arriving June 8.
Aguilera has already sold more than 30 million albums and won five Grammy Awards. But, as anyone who has been listening to her incredible voice knows, the singer is just getting started.
While serving her primary role as Mom to son Max, Aguilera has been busy in the studio between kiddy naps. The result is a year-long recording effort that promises one tightly crafted record.
It's hard to believe, but Bionic will be only Aguilera's fourth studio album. Look for Aguilera -- an ever-changing musician and persona -- to have a blast with the Bionic concept (for starters, see the album cover, below).
The first track, Not Myself Tonight, premiered on ChristinaAguilera.com and won't hit radio until April 5. Want to jam Not Myself Tonight on your own iPod? You'll have to wait to buy the single until April 13. Look for those radio requests to go through the roof!
Aguilera assembled an eclectic group of producers on Bionic and found the process liberating and enlightening. "Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience. The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic. My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound. The results were magic," Aguilera said in the CD's press release.
The songstresses' albums have run the gamut from her pop princess beginnings, through her Dirty phase, a Spanish language album and then the fierce power of her last full effort, Back to Basics, in 2006. Look for Bionic to push her musical envelope even further.
"I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective. I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound. It is something I don't think anyone will expect."
