Jennifer Love Hewitt explores Ghost Whisperer's scarier side

Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) tries to help a man who doesn't know if he's victim or villain in tonight's episode of Ghost Whisperer.

Jennifer Love Hewitt in Ghost Whisperer"We see a person (Josh Stewart from Criminal Minds) coming into the hospital who's bloody and claiming that they've been attacked by someone with a knife," executive producer-writer PK Simonds set up in this week's Ghost Whispering video blog.

"Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) gets a vision of something very much like that, but it quickly becomes a question mark whether this guy was a victim in an attack or was actually a perpetrator in an attack and it gets even stranger when he's not sure himself."

To make things even more confusing, the ghost involved doesn't seem to be making much sense and does seem to be bending the rules a bit, but it will all be clear by the end as Hewitt and company do their thing.

"It's really a weird, twisted mystery," Simonds promised of the January 29 Ghost Whisperer. "We looked a the calendar and realized that it was episode 13 and the first day of production was Friday the 13th, so it seemed like a show that ought to be a bit about curses. There's a family curse, or what seems to be that, operating in the show. "

The twisted episode features an impressive list of guest stars, including The Princess and the Frog star Bruno Campos as Vernon, The Young and the Restless favorite Victoria Rowell as social worker Adrienne and Ion Overman from Three Rivers and Castle as Detective Sam Blair.

Catch the episode tonight at 8 pm, followed by a new episode of Medium starring Danielle Panabaker as a schizophrenic girl who haunts Allison's (Patricia Arquette) dreams.
