Monk is calling it quits after eight seasons. Monk's December 4 at 9 pm finale promises to solve the ultimate crime that Detective Monk has yet to solve -- the murder of his beloved wife Trudy.

For the last eight seasons, audiences have treasured the trials, tribulations and triumphs of former San Francisco detective Adrian Monk as portrayed by the multiple Emmy-winning Tony Shalhoub.

Monk has its series finale after 8 seasons December 4 on USA

The USA Network gave a little show about an obsessive-compulsive cantankerous detective with crime scene gifts beyond anything audiences had ever seen a chance and the network has been reaping the rewards ever since.

After the death of his wife, Shalhoub's Monk fell into a dark chasm that has taken him several-times-a-week therapy sessions to even leave the house.

Hired as a consultant by his friends at the SFPD, in the last eight seasons, Monk has solved over 100 “unsolvable” cases with his innate gift for seeing what no one else can -- a God-given talent Monk calls a “blessing and a curse.”

His curse is, that although he can solve the most complex murder cases, the one closest to his heart remains a mystery.

On December 4, that clueless journey comes to a close with the last murder case Monk masters. We, for one, cannot wait to witness who Monk discovers is “The Guy.”
