Cyber Monday is the internet’s answer to Black Friday and the sales show no signs of slowing on your favorite pop culture items. That means if you missed the deals on Friday, you can still stock up on stocking stuffers at a deep discount.
As mentioned in our November 25 story on Black Friday, a slew of hot CDs hit the proverbial shelves this weekend, including Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment, Britney Spears’ The Singles Collection, Beyonce’s two-CD set I Am…Yours. An Intimate Performance at Wynn Las Vegas, Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster, Shakira’s She Wolf and Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed A Dream.
If you’re looking for DVDs or Blu-rays, there’s quite a selection there as well for this Cyber Monday! There are hot new releases like Star Trek and Up, but you can also get ahead of things by pre-ordering upcoming releases like Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (which arrives December 7) or The Hangover. TV junkies may find this the perfect time to pick up a season or more of your favorite shows like House, Mad Men, The Office or True Blood.
If you, your man or your kids are into gaming, this is a great time to get on those and for the record, now isn’t a terrible time to look into big ticket items like TVs, GPS systems, laptops and gaming devices.
Those looking to plan a family vacation or an adult getaway before or after the holiday will also find some interesting deals on United, JetBlue and Virgin America
Along with all the shopping fun, however, the internet has also introduced another new element to the holiday craze — cyber-scammers! “These thieves follow seasonal trends and create holiday-related Web sites, scams and other convincing e-mails that can trick even the most cautious users,” cautioned Jeff Green, senior VP of McAfee Labs.
