Brad Pitt trashes Tom Cruise movie

Brad Pitt trashed the Tom Cruise flick Valkyrie while promoting his own war film Inglourious Basterds.

Pitt, who starred with Cruise in the '90s popcorn flick Interview with the Vampire, gave an interview with German magazine Stern in which he touted his own new release Inglourious Basterds while slamming Cruise's own World War II film Valkyrie.

Pitt said of his Quentin Tarantino-directed Basterds, "The second World War could still deliver more stories and films, but I believe that Quentin put a cover on that pot. With Basterds, everything than can be said to this genre has been said. The film destroys every symbol. The work is done, end of story."

Is such pomposity in the face of what looks like a ridiculous movie warranted? That remains to be seen. But speaking of ridiculous, that is exactly what Pitt said of Cruise's WWII flick Valkyrie.

Literally, exactly what he said. When asked about Valkyrie, Pitt responded, "It was a ridiculous movie."

Perhaps, but not as ridiculous as Pitt's skinny little moustache.
