Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn in happier daysWhen a marriage in Hollywood lasts over a decade and their overall couple-hood lasts for twenty years, well you'd think it's solid as a rock. Unfortunately, you'd have to think again.

Robin Wright Penn filed the divorce papers in Marin County California and it seems that both parties have agreed to shared custody of their 16-year-old son, Hopper Jack, who was named after Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson. Their daughter, Dylan, is already 18-years-old.

Penns done for real?

The couple has already agreed to division of their property. As for the reason to their break-up? You guessed it: irreconcilable differences.

Robin Wright Penn and Sean Penn were together since 1989. They had two children before their marriage and tied the knot in 1996. Apparently Sean left two big movie opportunities in order to focus more on his family life.

The couple has had their share of life's trials and tribulations as they lost their Malibu home to a fire in '93.

Robin was robbed in her car at gunpoint and after that -- the Penns moved out of Los Angeles. His car, a limited edition Buick Grand National 1987, was stolen a few months after his return from Iraq. They also grieved during the death of Sean's brother, Chris.
