Motherhood is declaring itself its own film genre. According to the the film's producers, "no other movie has dedicated itself in quite this way to probing exactly what it takes to be a mother, with both wry humor and an acute sense of authenticity."

Dieckmann is back behind the camera after her twin towers of insightful filmmaking, Diggers and A Good Baby.

Thurman plays a stay-at-home mom who takes her life's trials online by creating her own blog. Her site takes off because of her honest and keen understanding of all things Motherhood.
