Elisabeth Hasselbeck gives birth
And baby makes five for the Hasselbeck family! The co-host of The View is enjoying the view, literally, from motherhood. Television personality Elisabeth Hasselbeck gave birth yesterday afternoon in a Manhattan hospital to a healthy son, Isaiah Timothy, weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces.
Isaiah is the third child of the co-host and former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck. He joins big sister Grace Elisabeth, 4, and Taylor Thomas, twenty months. Tim was quoted as saying, "Elisabeth and Isaiah are doing great. and we're excited about the addition of another baby boy into our family."
You may recall that after Elisabeth graduated from Boston College, she was seen on Survivor in 2001. After auditioning for The View to replace one of the departed hosts, Lisa Ling, she snagged the coveted role which further thrust her into the national spotlight in 2003. A year prior to that, Elisabeth tied the knot with Hasselbeck, her college boyfriend.
While Hasselbeck is also known as the conservative on the show, she's also developed a career off-screen as well.
She's a supporter of breast cancer awareness initiatives in internet-only public service announcements. Plus, she's the author of a best-selling book, The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide since she has celiac disease. This disease is an autoimmune disorder of the small intestine that occurs in genetically predisposed people of all ages.
Now it certainly seems the co-host has her hands full as the Hasselbecks live and raise their family in New York City.
