Sex and the City sequel starring Katie Holmes?
Could it be true? Katie Holmes is the dream casting request of the Sex and the City sequel. SheKnows believes it will happen.
To us New Yorkers, Katie Holmes feels like a surrogate New Yorker. Holmes on Broadway? Check. Holmes runs in the NYC marathon? Check. Star in the Sex and the City sequel? Check.
SheKnows' sources have confirmed that Katie Holmes is being sought for a role in the sequel to Sex and the City: The Movie.
Katie Holmes is an ideal fit for the flick and, of course, the characters we know so well. Here's the deal: Apparently, she would play a character who is a Type-A, high-power persona. In fact, Holmes' may become a Samantha Jones nemesis. Would that not be fab?
Now, of course, there is buzz leading up to the highly anticipated sequel, which we hear will begin shooting in Manhattan this fall.
Katie Holmes is on set in Australia shooting an indie film, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. It will be interesting to see if Suri's mom takes up the offer, and although we haven't heard a lot of scoop about the Sex and the City flick, we do know this: As they're casting extras, they're looking for socialite types, glamazons and um, people who look like international, professional soccer players.
Will Carrie and Big stay together? Will Samantha find another love back in Manahattan? And how about Miranda and Steve's staying power? Will Charlotte have another baby? These are all questions we hope the sequel will answer. Rest assured, fans cannot get enough of the characters Candace Bushnell created.
Judging by recent news about a movie that was banned from being filmed in the Middle East because it had "sex" in the title, SheKnows believes the storyline will involve Big in some sort of foreign deal that will bring Carrie to foreign soil.
