Remember Mischa Barton and the show that put her on the map, The OC? The starlet has reportedly been staying in a hospital under a “psychiatric hold.”
Barton, 23, has been at
the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles as reported by Access Hollywood.
Apparently Mischa’s doctor recommended her hospitalization and as such, she’s been at Cedars-Sinai and is resting comfortably. Just a few days ago Mischa reportedly called the cops to
say she had a medical issue. The LAPD said they helped her in seeking medical assistance by removing her from her home. Although we don’t want to speculate, we do know that last April she was
sentenced to three years of unsupervised probation related to her DUI arrest in December 2007.
While we wish Barton well in a healthy recovery, one can’t imagine
how being catapulted into the spotlight overnight could be healthy for anyone. Case in point: in 2003 she was named “It Girl” by Entertainment Weekly. Then she was named
Hollywood Life’s Breakthrough Actress of the Year. Barton also won a few American Teen Choice Awards for the show as well as Cosmopolitan’s Fun Fearless Female Award and
Glamour’s Women of the Year. From 2003 through 2007 she was ranked as People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People” issue. As if that’s not enough, in 2008 she
received the VIPer Award for Style Icon 2007 by none other than Karl Lagerfeld. Impressed yet?
Mischa currently has a few projects in motion like Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain, The Science of Cool and The Beautiful Life so our best wishes the star gets back on her feet
in no time!
