Farrah Fawcett funeral details
Loved ones of Farrah Fawcett gathered in Los Angeles for her private funeral on July 1.
Family and friends congregated at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels -- fitting for the most memorable of Charlie's Angels -- to say goodbye to an actress whose smile was never
overshadowed by her public fight with cancer.
Farrah's longtime companion Ryan O'Neal was a pall-bearer and gave a reading at the service, attended by celebrity friends including former Charlie's Angels star Kate Jackson, model Cheryl Tiegs, Marla Maples, Jose Eber, Dick Van Patten and Farrah's best friend Alana Stewart -- former wife of rocker Rod Stewart.
Farrah and Ryan's son Redmond O'Neal was also in attendance. Redmond is serving time for a parole
violation stemming from a drug possession conviction, but was allowed a three-hour break to attend his mother's funeral. He sat flanked by sheriff's deputies and gave the first Bible
reading, returning to jail directly after the hour-long service.
Ryan O'Neal gave the second Bible reading and finished stating, "We take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years."
Farrah's dark mahogany coffin was covered in bright yellow flowers, reminiscent of the actress's famous blond hair and her love of the California sunshine. Ryan was a pallbearer, carrying the remains of his beloved Farrah to the hearse.
Fawcett died after battling anal and liver cancer for three years.
