TNT showcases strong women
Between Holly Hunter, Jada Pinkett Smith and dream weddings, Tuesday is a big night for women on TNT. They pull the wraps off two new shows and premiere a returning favorite. Plus, the Country Music Awards is also set to rock!
Yesterday, I sat down to a crazy hour of Cake Boss on TLC. This show is rapidly becoming one of my favorites thanks to the rough around the edges characters on the show. It's like The Sopranos with sugar flowers! Buddy (whom you may know from The Food Network Challenge) certainly has his hands full turning out spectacular cakes in his busy bakery.
But last night he had those hands clenched thanks to a bridezilla who squirted colored icing all over a pristine white cake as a show of how much she hated it. Now, I don't know what they charge for these cakes, but they can't be cheap and in two minutes, this bratty bride destroyed a work of art and demanded another in less than 24 hours. The topper? When Buddy did deliver a gorgeous, colorful cake (teeth gritted into a huge smile), the bride refused to even come look at it. Oy vey! Pity the poor guy who married this little gem.
Let's take a look at TNT's big night of premieres.
Tonight's top TV picks:
Jada Pinkett Smith stars in this new medical drama on TNT. Smith plays a nurse who would do anything for her patients and that often means butting heads with the Chief of Surgery (Michael Vartan). Having recently lost her husband, Hawthorne has plenty of issues of her own and you'll see them unfold in this weekly look at the life of an overworked, underpaid nurse.

Mark Burnett is the genius behind this new, feel-good reality show that delivers a fantasy wedding to a deserving couple. First up are Steve and Holli. Just four days before their wedding in 2007, Holli was in a near-fatal car crash and was given only a 50/50 chance of surviving. It's been a long road to recovery and now the couple is going to get the wedding of their dreams. Keep the tissues handy because you are going to cry.

Watch Wedding Day at 8:00 on TNT.
Look for some angelic intervention in this, the third season opener of the TNT hit series.
Grace is forced to take a hard look at herself and her future when she revisits her own personal tragedy - the death of her sister in the Oklahoma City bombing. It's a poignant episode that star Holly Hunter will rock right out of the box.
Watch Saving Grace at 10:00 on TNT.
The Country Music Awards
If you love country music, then this is your night. Bill Engvall hosts an evening of lively performances by Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler and many more. The fans picked the winners and you get to watch a great show.
