American Idol, DWTS
American Idol showcases its final three, while there will be closure tonight for one of the couples on Dancing with the Stars -- as well as for Oxygen's Pretty Wicked, Fringe and Biggest Loser: Couples.
Last night, we said goodbye (for the season) to House, Castle and The Big Bang Theory. I didn't watch House, but I heard it was disappointing for many, confusing for some and just so-so for others. If you watched, let us know what you thought in the comments below.
As for Castle, it was a very respectable finale -- just personal enough without letting emotions take over the main story. Look at the side story about Alexis and the prom: Most TV shows would have turned that simple story into a dramatic angst-fest in which the boyfriend is a creep and she calls Dad, sobbing, begging him to come pick her up at the dance. Not on Castle. Even on the season finale, they resisted the temptation, and I love them for that. Castle's relationship with his daughter and mother are so refreshing; it's one of the things I enjoy most about the show. What really surprised me, though, was the cliffhanger ending. Castle found out something big about who killed Beckett's mother. It was big enough that he had to go to the hospital to tell her about it. That makes me think the old boyfriend was somehow involved -- likely not the killer, but maybe part of a cover-up? If this series doesn't get a second-season pickup, I hope the producers take pity and post the information on the Internet so at least we'll have some closure. What to watch tonight:
Tonight, American Idol celebrates its 300th episode as the top three take the stage. It's all up to the boys now; Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey and Kris Allen take on the judges' picks. I'm still saying this one is too close to call. Set your DVR to pick up an extra five minutes as the show is scheduled to run over.
Watch American Idol at 8:00 on Fox.
It's the first-season finale for this unexpected Fox hit of the season. Tonight, someone with close ties to Fringe Division gets attacked, a bioterrorist returns, and Walter disappears! All this, and guest star Leonard Nimoy popping up as the elusive William Bell, too. There will be answers, but you can bet you'll have a lot more questions when it's all said and done, because Fringe has already been picked up for a second season.Watch Fringe at 9:04 on Fox.
The Biggest Loser: Couples
The winner will be chosen in this exciting three-hour live finale. In the first part of the show, the third finalist — as determined by America's vote — will also be revealed. And America will get a chance to choose one of the new contestants for the next season of The Biggest Loser. After that, all 22 contestants return for a special reunion and one last weigh in. Then one of the three finalists will be named this season's Biggest Loser and win the coveted grand prize of $250,000!Watch The Biggest Loser: Couples starting at 8:00 on NBC.
