Kiefer Sutherland attends the Costume Ball in New York City and winds up arrested for assault.
As Sutherland knows, there are so many stellar events in Manhattan, sometimes you lose count. However, the annual Met Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art always tops the list. Unfortunately for Kiefer Sutherland, he made headlines not from the ball but the after-party instead.
The star of 24 was hit with an assault charge. Who’d he allegedly hit? Kiefer would not dream of assaulting someone as calm-headed as a fashion designer?
Kiefer apparently head-butted a designer, Jack McCollough, early Tuesday morning at an after party for the gala.
Yes, looks like Sutherland did use his head as a weapon and land a shot to the head of a fashion designer. Not the best way to make headlines from a star-studded bash that always brings out the Hollywood celebrities.
It could perhaps be considered a violation of Sutherland’s probation (the actor has two DUI accounts on his record) and may lead to more jail time. Here’s why: Kiefer spent 48 days behind bars after pleading no contest to driving under the influence in the fall of 2007. He was also sentenced to another sixty months (count ‘em, five years!) of probation which he’s still serving.
While we’re not sure what the outcome will be at press time, we do know this. Jack Bauer continues to mesmerize us on the screen so as 24 remains a hit, we hope Kiefer seeks help. His, now ironic, interview with us where he discusses his 48-day jail time now seems incredibly resonant. Read it here!
