Tori Spelling as Donna Martin is proving powerful for the CW as Spelling’s guest-starring run on 90210 continues, while American Idol does disco and Dancing with the Stars loses one star.
Last night, I was Dancing with the Stars when the heat took the lights out. The sudden heat wave in southern California that pushed temperatures into the high 90s caused me to miss six minutes of Dancing with the Stars, but karma was with me as the whole six minutes was filled with commercials!
We’ve got more on Dancing with the Stars in a minute.I had to skip Castle, so don’t tell me whodunit as I won’t be able to watch until tonight. Actually, after reviewing the schedule below, I may not have a free moment.
Tonight On TV: Tuesday, April 21
Fox is top on my list tonight with American Idol, and then Olivia witnesses a suicide that likely isn’t a suicide on Fringe. The CW has a new episode of Reaper and 90210.
ABC starts with a double dose of According to Jim, followed by the Dancing with the Stars results show, and then the new crime drama, The Unusuals.

NBC goes with Biggest Loser: Couples and finishes with a rerun of Law & Order: SVU.
Over on cable
MTV debuts their new series The Phone. It’s an interesting hybrid of action movie and reality show from the mind of Justin Timberlake. Cell phones are hidden in a city, and if someone picks one up and agrees, the game begins immediately. Participants are tasked to take on fantasy action scenarios that involve actors playing mobsters and other criminals, and I hear a car blows up in the first episode. Haven’t seen it yet, but it sounds like a blast. On the tamer side, BET has College Hill, Bravo goes with Real Housewives of New York City, and BBCAmerica is finishing up Last Restaurant Standing. On the scripted side, FX has a new Rescue Me, and it’s board-game night on TBS’s My Boys.
