Star Jones skinny journey
Star Jones may have made up with Rosie O'Donnell, but the sting from her The View exit still hurts. Jones shares her skinny secrets with Oprah, as if we don't know how she lost her weight.
Okay, so by now you've heard of Valerie Bertinelli's stunning fifty pound weight loss, the cover of People, and the appearance on Oprah. Kudos to her for being in the spotlight with the pressure but as for the back story? Star Jones is right there.
Star chatted with Oprah on the same episode as Valerie Bertinelli whereby Star's story was a bit different. You may recall she became a household name during the O.J. Simpson trial in '95 (gosh, how time flies!) Star Jones landed a host spot on The View and as her popularity rose, she seemed to gain weight. And more weight. And then some.At the time she had gastric bypass surgery and ballooned to an all-time high of 307 pounds. Refusing to talk about it on The View, she was subsequently fired. Jones seemed to be authentic in the reality of her journey: she was scared to disappoint people by saying she had the surgery in that she was unable to control her weight.Always the lawyer, Jones joked that she never outright lied about it or said it was simply "pilates and portion control." Instead, she said there was "medical intervention" which could technically mean a nutritionist, personal trainer, you know — a professional.Star Jones admitted she was an addict and ate a lot alone at night. Now a svelte woman, Star Jones says sometimes she's still three hundred pounds in her head.
