Going back to Woodstock?
Is Woodstock being revived? Here's a trivia question for you. What's one event that transformed a nature and became kinda iconic yet you never sit around wondering if anything will be done for its fortieth anniversary.
Give up? Woodstock! The legendary 1969 Woodstock Festival is apparently seeking sponsors for get this – a re-enactment in Manhattan.
Here at SheKnows the buzz is that Woodstock promoters think it's completely feasible and do-able. As for the secret location? Perhaps Central Park, perhaps not. The really cool thing is The Who played at the original concert in Bethel (upstate New York for all the non-New Yorkers keeping score).
We wonder if The Who will reprise their role at the newly minted Woodstock? And how about other acts?
Perhaps The Dave Matthews Band or other talented folks will play some tunes?
We can imagine it will be green-friendly as they hope the concert is a free event and leaves as small a carbon imprint as possible. Here's the kicker: it all boils down to money.
If the Woodstock organizers are successful in raising funds via sponsors, it will determine if there is an event and also, how big the Woodstock reprisal is done up. We hear they would be totally jazzed if Santana, Joe Cocker and Crosby Stills and Nash performed at the newly minted Woodstock.
Ten years ago for the thirtieth anniversary the Red Hot Chili Peppers (not to be confused with a Scottish band, the Red Hot Chili Pipers – so not kidding!), so we also hear the Woodstock promoters are considering them as well.
