Natasha Richardson death ruled head trauma

Vanessa Redgrave and family have announced that Natasha Richardson's funeral services will be private. The news is expected in the tragic and sudden death of Richardson from a head injury incurred while skiing in Canada.

Immediate family members only will be the guest list that is sure to include Natasha's husband, Liam Neeson, her mother Vanessa Redgrave; sister Joely Richardson and her two teenage boys. The Redgrave family says that fans wishing to pay respect to Ms. Richardson can do so outside the Greenwich Village Funeral Home in New York City.

The Greenwich Village Funeral Home will be handling all of the Richardson funeral arrangements. Tributes and well wishes have been flooding the area.

Natasha Richardson's death was determined yesterday by autopsy. It was ruled that her death was officially called "blunt trauma to the head."Richardson incurred the injury March 16 did not seem to cause her much pain at first. But, as headaches increased, she was rushed to a local hospital. From there she was airlifted to a Montreal facility and then New York City for more intense care.The New York medical examiner says that Richardson suffered an epidural hematoma. The injury was between the brain and the skull colliding causing a large amount of blood to gather between in the area.Broadway is paying its respects to one of its favorite and most talented actresses by having the Great White Way's light dimmed at 8 p.m. each night this week.
