Natasha Richardson hurt in skiing accident
Natasha Richardson is in a Montreal hospital fighting for her life from head injuries incurred while skiing in Canada.
Richardson was taking a private skiing lesson when she fell near the bottom of the beginner's hill. The instructor escorted Richardson to her hotel suite. Later in the day, she complained of headaches and the hotel called for an ambulance.
The actress was taken to a Montreal hospital after a short stay at a facility near the skiing resort.
Richardson is married to actor Liam Neeson, who left his Toronto movie set to fly to Montreal to be by his wife's side. The actor, who recently appeared in the number one thriller Taken, is currently filming Chloe. "Liam Neeson left the Toronto set immediately to fly to Montreal upon news of his wife's accident," Neeson's representative says.
"We do not have any details but we hope for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with Natasha and Liam and their family."
Neeson and Richardson have two sons, Michael and Daniel and currently reside in upstate New York.
The Richardson skiing accident occurred at the Mont Tremblant resort in Quebec and while the latest details from the hospital report that Richardson is in critical condition, the mystery over her injury is only beginning. Initial injuries that were thought to be minor have become serious as her head injuries are now being listed as 'severe.'
According to hospital sources, the Tony award-winning Richardson is being treated at the Hopital du Sacre-Coeur de Montreal for "traumatic brain injury."
Richardson is the oldest daughter of Oscar-winner Vanessa Redgrave and director Tony Richardson and sister to actress Joely Richardson.
