Nicollette Sheridan quits Desperate Housewives
Nicollette Sheridan is leaving Desperate Housewives. In a David Caruso quitting NYPD Blue type of moment, audiences wonder: why would Sheridan leave a hit show?
Desperate Housewives creative staff had to field millions of questions today as word of Nicollette Sheridan's departure caused waves throughout the television industry.
The ABC hit's other stars, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria Parker, Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross, have yet to make any comments on Sheridan and her departure.
The show arrived to enormous buzz during its first season in 2004, but ratings fell a bit in season two through four. But with the arrival of season five and a time warp jump into the future, Desperate Housewives had found new electricity and was beginning to build its ratings once again.
As to how Sheridan will leave on the show, creator Marc Cherry is not saying. As of now, the word on the street is that the cast and crew are in shock and a little time will have to pass before they think about the future.
Wisteria Lane will be one less Housewife and whether the blond bombshell character will be filled by another is still unknown, but look for the show to go in another direction with adding a character to their already Fab Four.
Some reports are coming out of Hollywood that Sheridan's character will suffer an untimely death in a car crash. There is nothing like a violent death to ensure that an actor who is leaving a show never may return.
