Joaquin Phoenix starts rapping
Joaquin Phoenix and his antics have always been entertaining.
Ah, Hollywood, Tinsel Town is keeping us on our toes. That is for sure! Remember back in October when Joaquin Phoenix said he was retiring from acting, done with hiding behind movie characters and ready for some music?
Alright then, even if you don't please nod with us in agreement, OK?
Joaquin Phoenix made his first entrance into the music world in Vegas last week and he's way serious about his new passion. He tells People, "After all the years of reading scripts and reading lines, this is my chance to do something straight from the heart and put it out there," Phoenix says
And why hip-hop we wonder? "When I was young I liked punk rock music but then I discovered rap. I love the storytelling aspect of hip-hop."
We give Joaquin Phoenix props, however. How many stars do you know that go back and forth between television and movies that can actually sing and be talented in this highly competitive entertainment world. It takes guts. Other than the multi-talented Hilary Duff and J. Lo, seriously what men have done the crossover?
So, Joaquin Phoenix took to the stage in Las Vegas and performed three songs from his future album. Better yet, it was captured on film. Joaquin's brother-in-law Casey Affleck (Joaquin's sister Summer is married to Casey, which we suppose makes Joaquin also related to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner!) caught the action on film for a documentary about Joaquin's entrance into his new passion.
