The Bachelor’s back, while Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill kick off winter TV’s return — as they did in the fall. All are equally hot enough to melt these cold nights!
Bit by bit, they’re trickling in — new shows, new episodes of returning shows — before you know it, my DVR will be overloaded once more. I can’t wait.
Last night I got hooked on Superstars of Dance.
Superstars of Dance is a great competition series that showcases traditional dances from all over the world in singles, couples and groups. We saw jangly Bollywood dances, the fast pace footwork of Irish step dancing, and the sultry and seductive Argentinean Tango. It was interesting to see the similarities from culture to culture but at the same time, it’s the individual nuisances that make it their own.
I was very impressed with most of the dancers and I like that there is an international panel of judges. The South African judge and I have similar taste it seems, but I don’t know what’s up with the Argentinean judge, she’s all over the map. There were also a couple of familiar faces on the show including Pasha from So You Think You Can Dance, taking on the couple’s leg for the Russian team.
Tonight is the second half of the quarter-finals. The scores will be added together and one country will be eliminated. Geez, that sounds harsh. Maybe we should say they’ll be asked to ‘step aside’ while the other continue. If you love dancing, you’ll love Superstars of Dance.
Now let’s see what else is on tonight.
