Private Practice leads TV tonight, Stylista reveals Elle magazine’s next employee, the Muppets celebrate Christmas and Pushing Daisies keeps it fresh.
Murder not withstanding, NCIS has a very poignant holiday episode last night. Peter Coyote is always an excellent guest and Abby’s wide-eyed Christmas spirit was very sweet and fun to watch.
After that, I stayed on for The Mentalist, which is growing on me. Still not crazy about some of the supporting actors but the plots have settled in and Simon Baker doesn’t act quite so goofy anymore. Last night we learned that Patrick had a breakdown after his family was murdered and ended up in a locked ward. Elisabeth Rohm from Law & Order was his shrink and did I detect a hint of something more…?
Lastly, it was the final episode of Blush and my favorite, Nolan, won the whole kit and caboodle. There’s no question that Maxie is talented but should you give the prize to a guy who creates so much chaos when he works? Genius is wonderful but if you’re unemployable because of your behavior then what’s the point? In this case, I’d say the best man definitely won.
Now let’s see what’s on tonight!
TV tonight: Wednesday, December 17
NBC gets the top slot tonight with an all new holiday special, A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa, that’s followed by the Russian mob on Life, and a woman is murdered (big surprise there) on Law & Order.
ABC is all about the aftermath. Dwight’s disappearance is the cause on Pushing Daisies, Pete and Violet are getting close on Private Practice, and a shooting spree impacts the Darlings on Dirty Sexy Money.
CBS begins with laughs as Christine opens a spa on The New Adventures of Old Christine, and Gary tries to bond with Tom on Gary Unmarried. Then a killer is targeting luxury vehicles on the LA freeways on Criminal Minds and a police chase leads to a death on CSI: NY.
It’s fashion night on The CW starting with the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and then it’s the finale of Stylista!
FOX lets loose with another Secret Millionaire and a rerun of Bones.
Over on cable
There’s plenty of holiday cheer tonight when the chefs cater a Christmas cocktail party on Top Chef, HGTV has a White House Christmas and TNT has a wonderful holiday special called Christmas in Washington.
Movie include A Christmas Carol on TNT, Home by Christmas on Lifetime, When Angels Come to Town on Hallmark, and Snow 2: Brain Freeze on ABCFamily.
