Golden Globe nominees

Golden Globe nominations have arrived and Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Anne Hathaway and Leonardo DiCaprio all were honored by the Golden Globe organization for the 2008 awards. Heath Ledger was no Joker as he scored a nod for Dark Knight.

Brad Pitt nabs a Golden Globe nominationThe Golden Globes are by far the most enjoyable of the award shows. With television and film’s best and an open bar, Hollywood celebrities truly let it all hang out.

This year’s Golden Globe nominees are a diverse group. Nominees for best picture include Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Angelina Jolie’s The Changeling as well as Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s reunion picture Revolutionary Road.

The acting nominees from television and film are a star-studded group. Jolie, DiCaprio and Pitt, as mentioned, Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married), Sean Penn (Milk), Meryl Streep (Doubt), James Franco (Pineapple Express), Amy Adams (Doubt), Clint Eastwood (for music) and Colin Farrell for an Irish film no one saw. But…it was great!

There were several surprises and snubs. Eastwood was ignored for director for both Gran Torino and The Changeling. Many thought Tales of Despereaux with its French flavor would nab a best animated feature nomination. But, it was not to be.
