Is America ready for Zack and Miri?
Seth Rogen has become a huge star. His films are hilarious and equal big box office from Knocked Up to Superbad. Insert the word associated with X-rated films into his film's title and one wonders: will Rogan still have a that movie money mojo?
That question will be answered by Sunday night. That's when the box office estimates are out and America will answer the question if it liked the idea of Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
Kevin Smith, the writer-director behind Clerks and Dogma, is the mastermind behind this comedy that also stars Elizabeth Banks. The film concerns a couple of good friends/roommates who are so out of money, they feel their only option is to make a sex film and hilarity ensues.
By the way, wasn't Banks' Laura Bush perfect in W.? I'd say she was the best part of the film, but with Josh Brolin's George W. Bush...I'm smelling Oscar!
Could, on this rare moment when Halloween arrives on a Friday - the traditional day of movie releases -that the number one film on Monday morning is not a horror movie?
It is hard to say because also arriving on screens October 31 is the Chase Crawford (Gossip Girl) starring thrill-fest The Haunting of Mary Hartley. With Gossip Girl's hottie heading the cast, I would not bet against the scary movie in 2008.
