Ugly Betty leads a huge night of premieres on TV

It was only our second elimination on Dancing with the Stars last night, and it was a bit of a surprised. Cloris Leachman made it through to dance another day while Ted McGinley was sent packing. It’s a shame because I think he had some untapped talent and he was fun to watch. Not happy with that result, but it wasn’t a crushing blow.

Welcome home, Betty! Our girl moves to the big city. Finally! The Project Runway designers had a complicated but cool challenge – they had to design outfits for each other that were based on a variety of musical styles. Suede in punk was an easy win for Korto, but ironically, it was Suede himself who was cut. My opinion, Kenley should have gone home because attitude counts in my book, baby. I’m really tired of her rude, eye-rolling sarcasm in response to Tim, I’m glad he read her the riot act. On Top Design, the challenge was to create a cool bachelor pad – for real guys! Geez, I didn’t like any of the places they designed, what were they thinking? Those ugly screens with frog dissections on them…and there wasn’t a lick of color in any one of these spaces. Boring, boring, boring. However, boring is not a word I would use to describe what’s on tonight! So, so many more premieres that your DVR won’t be able to handle the load.

Tonight on TV – Thursday, September 25

ABC is breaking out pure premier bliss tonight! Primetime begins with the season opener of Ugly Betty. The Ugly Betty cast will be joined by guest stars Lindsay Lohan, Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin. The evening of entertainment just gets better as Grey’s Anatomy begins its fifth season with a two-hour premier. CBS begins its 17th season of Survivor with a two-hour opener and that’s followed by a repeat of CSI. NBC brings on the laughs with one-hour premier episodes of both My Name is Earl (with a guest appearance by Seth Green) and The Office. Last, but certainly not least, ER finishes the NBC night with their 15th (and FINAL) season premiere. Chef Gordon Ramsey whips two struggling restaurants into shape with back-to-back episodes of Kitchen Nightmares on FOX. The CW has new episodes of both Smallville and Supernatural where Dean and Sam must face the souls of those they couldn’t save.

Over on cable

If movies are what you desire, WGN is showing the James Bond action flick, The World Is Not Enough. BET provides laughs in Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion, while WE is showing the classic, The Color Purple. MTV has Top Pop and VH1 has Glam God (one of my new favorites) and there’s Tabitha taking over a new salon on Bravo at 10:00. Tune into the Travel Channel’s new episode of Super Swank, Luxury Vacation homes to plan your next getaway, or to just drool and fantasize!
