Gossip Girl turns up the heat

This weekend I spent most of my time watching news coverage of the hurricane in Texas. I hope all of our readers in the area made it through safely. Between that news, the train accident here in California and assorted other news stories it was nice to take a small break, I did that with Stargate Atlantis and the latest Kitchen Nightmares which I pulled up OnDemand. Cool service if you have it in your area. It lets you watch the latest shows from ABC, Fox and USA anytime you want.

Oh, and did you catch Tina Fey doing a spot-on imitation of Sarah Palin on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live? I heard Ms. Palin was not amused. I was.

Fox has exciting new episodes of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Prison Break.

ABC is going with a movie, Batman Begins.
CBS goes for mostly laughs with reruns of The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and on a serious note, CSI: Miami.

NBC starts with Deal or No Deal, goes to America’s Toughest Jobs and ends with Dateline.

The CW has new episodes of Gossip Girl, and One Tree Hill.

Over on cable

Nickelodeon has a new show for the whole family debuting tonight. It’s called My Family’s Got Guts.

Over on TNT, The Closer delivers a tense mid-season finale and Raising the Bar is new at 10:00.

It’s the season finale of Weeds on Showtime and The Food Network is almost all new with shows such as How Did That Get on My Plate and Unwrapped.

News and notable

Can’t get enough Gordon Ramsey? You’re in luck. Fox has signed him on for two more seasons of Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen with an option on a third series and cooking special.

Rose McGowan will join Nip/Tuck, filling the part that was originally going to Katee Sackhoff now that Sackhoff has been cast in the latest Dick Wolf cop show.

Lily Tomlin will join Desperate Housewives playing the sister of Kathryn Joosten’s character. Ironic since they both played President Bartlett’s secretary on The West Wing.

Now Casting: Hollywood Judge is looking for unusual court cases. Get information on how to have your case heard on TV at www.thehollywoodjudge.com.
