America’s Got Talent returned last night and they’ve finally moved on to the viewer voting portion. It was a good mix of dance, music and magic, though a few of the acts fell very short. The magician who did the ripped card trick, you could totally see how he did it. I think many of these guys are used to working on stage and having a camera two-feet away is hurting them. And those dancing cowboys, sorry, but they were a mess.
I caught the premiere of the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency and I’m afraid this show has lost its charm. Janice’s antics are so predictable and except for moving into a luxury house in Beverly Hills, this episode looked like a repeat of last season’s opener. New models arrive, Janice makes the old models feel unwanted, life is rough, get over it. This one is coming off the DVR.
Tonight on TV
You’ll find plenty of Convention coverage tonight which means this listing will be ‘give or take’ depending on where you live. NBC’s America’s Got Talent returns with ten of the top forty acts and then it’s the 2008 Democratic National Convention! ABC has the usual, Wife Swap, Supernanny, and then convention coverage. CBS has Greatest American Dog, Criminal Minds, and then convention coverage. Fox goes with a double dose of Bones. The CW has America’s Next Top Model, and Pussy Cat Dolls Present: Girlicious.
Over on cable
It’s the season finale of Shear Genius after an all-new Project Runway on Bravo. The Food Network has a new Dinner Impossible, and Style goes with Clean House at 10 p.m. Travel Channel caps off summer with Extreme Seaworld and Barbecue Patrol, while TruTV follows those Stringers: LA for an hour beginning at 10 p.m.
