Richard Dreyfuss sues dad and uncle for fraud
Actor Richard Dreyfuss has filed a lawsuit against his father and uncle, alleging fraud and malice after the pair failed to repay a 24-year-old debt.
Dreyfuss says he loaned the relatives $870,000 in 1984 to bail them out of financial trouble involving an office building in downtown LA.
Dreyfuss says he has not seen any money from them since, and that his uncle has repeatedly refused to disclose financial records.
The actor wants his money back -- with interest. Keeping him busy in the meantime is his role as Vice President Dick Cheney in Oliver Stone's upcoming biopic W. How did he channel the gloomy figure?
"He speaks slowly and when he speaks, he speaks without effect," he told the Reno Gazette-Journal.
"He speaks without trying to persuade. He just is, like a lump of cancer. That was the trick, to kind of do away with personality."
