Christina Applegate battling breast cancer
Actress Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with breast cancer, according to her publicist.
"Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer," said Ame Van Iden, a rep for the 36-year-old actress.
"Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery."
Applegate started her career on the Fox hit "Married...With Children" playing the ditzy Kelly Bundy. She then went on to star in a series of film that did alright at the box office including the hilarious "Sweetest Thing."
The actress earned a Tony nomination for her role on Broadway's "Sweet Charity" and has earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her ABC comedy "Samantha Who?"
SheKnows looks forward to chatting with Christina at this year's Emmy Awards.
Lee Grivas, her on-again, off-again boyfriend of several years, was recently found dead of an apparent drug overdose. The pair met when Applegate was married to actor Johnathon Schaech.
