Hellboy 2 wins box office battle

Hellboy 2 is the nation’s number one movie and part of a bigger trend. Movies that don’t do well, land on DVD to enormous success, only to find themselves back on the big screen in a hugely successful sequel.

The gang's all hereWith a big opening weekend upcoming between “The Dark Knight” and “Mamma Mia,” it would be easy to forget this past weekend.

But, “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” proved golden in the box office by scoring $35.9 million as the nation’s number one film over the weekend.

As much as we love Will Smith and his superhero “Hancock,” it fell lto second place.

As for third place? “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” an underground journey shot in digital 3-D starring one of our faves, Brendan Fraser.
