Shear Genius, Warren Beatty and Baby borrowing

Put those borrowed babies to bed, it’s the return of Shear Genius!

It's a new season of Shear GeniusExcuse me if I type funny, I’m still overdosing on the silly from last night. Did you catch ABC’s new game shows? “Wipeout” and “I Survived a Japanese Game Show?” They had their moments but not as many as I’d hoped. The Japanese version of “Wipeout” is much funnier, though “Game Show” I could probably watch again.

After that it was “America’s Got Talent” and wow, did they ever. Those Russian circus people with the girl jumping on a skinny bar, the magician who took an arrow to the heart, oh and those poor guys from New Orleans and their Katrina stories — yes, I shed more than a few tears last night. And don’t get me started on the guy who sang “Walking in Memphis.” I’m not usually into singers on this show but he had something special going for him.

And speaking of special, tonight is full of “NEW,” and how crazy is that for the last week of June. Take a look.

Tonight on TV

FOX has the top 16 dancers on “So You Think You Can Dance” and that fills the night for them.

NBC premieres “Baby Borrowers,” where teens are given a chance to raise kids from infants on up to adulthood in only a few weeks. After that is a new “Celebrity Circus” and a rerun of “Law & Order.”

ABC is all new with the fourth-season finale of “Wife Swap,” a new “Supernanny” and the second season premiere of “Primetime: Crime.”

The CW starts with a rerun of “America’s Next Top Model,” then rolls into a new “Farmer Wants a Wife.”

CBS is the only network without a new episode tonight. They have “Price is Right,” “Criminal Minds,” and “CSI: NY.”

Over on cable

“Shear Genius” returns to Bravo! I love this one. Don’t miss it. VH1 has new episodes of “I Love the New Millennium,” “She’s Got the Look” is new on TVLand and so is “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” on TBS.

USA has a special special at 9:00. It’s “AFI Lifetime Achievement Award: Tribute to Warren Beatty.” Guest include Faye Dunaway, Jane Fonda, Dustin Hoffman, Diane Keaton and many, many more.

News and notable

“Battlestar’s” Tricia Helfer has signed on to play a shrink in the new Shaun Cassidy pilot “Inseparable.”

CBS has ordered more episodes of “Million Dollar Password.”

“One Tree Hill’s” Michaela McManus will be the new assistant DA on “Law & Order: SVU.”

Mary-Kate Olsen will guest on an upcoming episode of “Samantha Who?”
