American Idol and Sam returns to Top Chef

Who will be named America’s Next Top Model? Who will be the new “American Idol? And is Sam returning to Top Chef?

Tonight on TV

Burning questions abound and many begin to be answered on tonight’s television watch.
The CW gets first dibs tonight with the season finale of “America’s Next Top Model,” that’s followed by “Farmer Wants a Wife.”

Speaking of the CW, stay tuned to SheKnows for our exclusive interview with “Gossip Girl” guest star turned permanent cast member, Michelle Trachtenberg on May 16.

At 9 p.m., switch over to Fox for “American Idol” when three becomes two and at 10 p.m. your best bet is “Law & Order” on NBC.

CBS also has a new “Criminal Minds” at 9:00 and a new “CSI: NY” at 10:00.

ABC fills the night with “Wife Swap,” “Supernanny,” and “Boston Legal.” 

Over on cable

“Top Chef” plays host to fan favorite Sam Talbot tonight on Bravo and it’s the season finale of “The Big 4-0” on TVLand.  Vh1 continues their series “Sex: The Revolution” and HGTV has new episodes of “Design on a Dime” and “Hidden Potential.”

— “The Real World” turns 21! Can you believe it?  For their next season they’re headed to Brooklyn. We can just hear them now!

— The CW has picked up “Stylista,” a reality series where contestants compete for a job at Elle Magazine.

— Fox’s new medical drama “Mental” takes you inside a mental hospital, but the truly unusual thing about this show is that it will be filmed in Bogota, Columbia and will be aired in Latin America first before coming to the US.

— Donnie Wahlberg has signed on to play a DEA agent in a new series for TNT.
