The Queen has left the building.
You know how they always say you need to vote for your favorites if you want them to stay in the competition? I need to take their advice. I didn’t vote last week and one of my favorites was in the bottom two in “Dancing with the Stars.”
Cristian de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke were standing under the red lights last night along with Priscilla Presley and Louis Van Amstel, sort of. The infamous red lights seemed to have a mind of their own last night, as did the teleprompter since it fed Tom Bergeron the wrong spiel at the wrong time. I love Tom and his handling of these missteps are always fun to watch.
At the top of the hour, Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas were recalled to perform their elegant and sexy dance from the night before. Latin band Ozomatli performed a perky number and then the juniors took the floor. These kids just blow me away with their precision and pep! James Blunt sang “Carry You Home” while a pair of pro dancers performed lifts that should be gravitationally impossible.
In the end, it was Priscilla who was told to pack up her dancing shoes and I was relieved. Now we’re at that point that I hate, where it becomes talent over personality. I adore Marissa, for example, but honestly, she’s not the best dancer in the pack. Jason I’m not that fond of, but he does get the moves right. It will be interesting to see if one of the dark horses can suddenly shine and take over the lead. Mario, maybe. I know he’s got it in him. It’s still anybody’s game.
