Toni Braxton rushed to hospital with chest pains
Soulful singer Toni Braxton was rushed to the hospital Monday night complaining of chest pains.
Braxton was in Las Vegas and was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital. Currently the "Unbreak My Heart" singer is singing at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino on the strip five nights a week. Could it be exhaustion? It is too early to tell excpect that she is resting comfortably today.
The singer is a six-time Grammy winner and has also tackled Broadway in recent years.
Off for the normal theater-dark Monday, Braxton was not on stage at the time as some have reported. She will have more time off as four more concerts of hers in Vegas were just cancelled. The Tropicana Hotel is wishing her the best and giving her the rest of the week off.
"We're going to go ahead and cancel her shows tonight and for the rest of the week," Flamingo Las Vegas hotel-casino and Harrah's Entertainment Inc. spokeswoman Deanna Pettit said in a statement today. "We expect she'll return to the stage next Tuesday."
Although Braxton's condition has not been released, the singer has been treated for pericarditis -- an inflammation of the heart -- in the past.
