Maybe they don't make Easter-themed films in Hollywood much anymore (except for this year's Hop), most of these are classics that stand the test of time.

Here's 8 classic Easter movies:

Easter Parade

Considered the great biblical epic of all time, the film's scope is immense. It's pile of Oscars reflects that. Anytime of year, this film is worth a viewing.

The Greatest Story Ever Told

Max Von Sydow stars as Christ in the film credited with most realistically capturing his days. Sydow is a tour de force as an actor.

Holiday Inn

Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire highlight this tale of a hotel that is only open on holidays. One of the best parts of the film is the Easter scenes.

Jesus of Nazareth

The Franco Zeffirelli TV mini-series is not only considered the standard for Easter stories, but also for how to effectively film and market a mini-series for television.

King of Kings

Narrated by Orson Welles, tells the story of Jesus Christ with a big-booming voice of that "Citizen Kane" guy.

The Sign of the Cross

This is a really old, old school film. Cecil DeMille (one of movies first big-time directors) chimes in on the Easter story told through the Roman side of the story.

Jesus Christ Superstar

Ted Neeley defined musical theater in this classic from Andrew Lloyd Webber. Neeley is still out on the road portraying Jesus decades after this film debuted on screens.
