Janet Jackson has the No. 1 album

After many doubters claimed her new CD would fail, Janet Jackson showed the world why she is still very much in control.

Selling over 181,000 copies of her latest record, "Discipline," Jackson made a statement that the family known more for the outrageous still has a firm grasp from one member about what pop music audiences want to hear. Upcoming SheKnows profile, Erykah Badu's latest album performed extremely well debuting at number two. Selling 124,000 copies is fantastic for a singer who has not had a new album in years. Stay tuned for our interview. Jack Johnson also continued to make waves with his three-week perch atop the number one spot coming to an end courtesy of Miss Jackson. His "Sleep Through the Static" fell to number three with total sales just over 92,000. Alicia Keys, another former number one album, dropped to number five as her single for "No One" continues to climb the pop charts.
