Celebs run off and join the circus
Remember Circus of the Stars?
Blame it on the success of "Dancing with the Stars." NBC has contracted with the producers of "Deal or No Deal" to develop "Celebrity Circus!" This live competition show will have celebs paired off with "avant garde professional circus troupes in a visually arresting format." (Their words, not mine.)
This series is part of NBC's commitment to provide year-round programing, a trend that has been a long time coming.
Here's what else Craig Plestis, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Development and Specials, NBC Entertainment (don't you love that title) had to say.
"This show will draw our favorite celebrities out of their comfort zone and into a stunning and magical circus environment that allows them to showcase their unseen skills."
"Celebrity Circus" will feature jaw-dropping performances and inspirational stories as the competitive journey unfolds. Music from cutting-edge artists will accompany the performances that rival contemporary Las Vegas-styled circus shows. The celebrity performances will be judged by the professional circus entertainers.
It's a great idea, I just can't see how they managed to get it past the insurance adjusters at NBC.
